STEETLEY MINERALS

This January 2018 update adds over one hundred new specimens to Steetley Minerals from around the world but with the emphasis on the United Kingdom. Many of these are drawn from two recently acquired collections, a few from my own collection with recent and historic collected material from the Yorkshire Pennines.

The Jim Knight collection, described in detail in the recent Russell Society Journal, was very diverse containing numerous rare species, many British minerals and a selection of aesthetic specimens. He lived in Lancashire and was a good friend of Richard Barstow, Richard Braithwaite and Mick Cooper.  Peter Harrison, a chemist by profession is from the Midlands and had an extensive collection of British and rare mineral species.
